Our camps give pride of place to inquiry, which helps to build critical thinking skills. Campers should expect to play and have fun, while also thinking and engaging with ideas.
Aart Vaarks emphasizes and explores all the different ways that we learn, and puts those to the test through various artistic media.
Clay model the community and think about what makes you who you are; strum metaphors with plants, trees and park benches to curate all of your environments;
write a fairy-tale from the antagonist's perspective, drawing your way to truths; or, dance, walk, skip or jump your way to creation and destruction.
Aart Vaarks takes inspiration from VARK testing, the idea that we learn in different 'modes' (Visual, Aural, Read/write, Kinesthetic sensory), to provide campers the
opportunity to create, explore, engage and be artistic with themselves, others, and the environment.

Comm-U-nity explores all aspects of the notion of community through a week-long 'Lego-Community activity.
By visiting different areas of Edmonton - the court house, Boyle Street Community Centre, and the Legislature

An exploration of ethical problems that arise from, within, and among group cooperation, competition, and collaboration, this camp will challenge its campers!
The central questions raised by the camp could include “What is a community?”; “What makes someone a leader?"; "Is being an internet-troll like playground-bullying?";
and "Is fairness the same as equality?"

Masterminds takes campers on a journey into the world of strategic thinking.
Campers will dig through central questions about what makes something or someone intelligent by competing against campers and computers in mensa board games;
thinking about cooperation, coordination, and leadership by stealing dragons eggs and arranging pipes and tubes. Capping the week off is a unique
escape room, designed to test all the skills of cooperation and careful thinking that your camper learned throughout the week.
By exploring different games, and the role of emotions in those games, campers will not only ask questions around optimal strategy and convincing bluffing,
but also questions like "What makes a game worth playing?"; "What's wrong with cheating?"; and "What makes some things fun but others boring?".
